MRYS Competition Rules for 2023
General Rules that apply to Competition Events
Only one skipper may race a boat in a competition event
Time will be given for battery changes but not for general repairs
Time will be given for damage incurred in race contact
Time may be given for rig changes – maximum of 5 minutes on application
A 5 minute break may be given after the first race
A 10 minute break may be given after race 5
If there is no RO, the Race Committee is in control of the racing
Thursday scratch racing (IOM)
Commences 6th February
best 3 of 4 races per month counts towards championship
best 7 of 10 months counts towards championship.
Trophy presentation at AGM
Sunday - 2nd Sunday of the month – Handicap Racing for DF95 and IOM – 10:00 start for DF95 and 1:00pm for IOM.
15 second penalty for first place
10 second penalty for second place
5 second penalty for 3rd place
Handicaps carry over to the next race and race day
Handicaps adjusted each week – Max starting range will be -40 seconds to +40 seconds
11 races maximum with 2 drops per race day
4 points deducted for each win, 2 points deducted for second place and 1 point deducted for each third place.
Maximum 10 race days per year
2 drops (over the year)

Sunday - 4th Sunday of the month – Scratch Racing for DF95 and IOM – 10:00 start for DF95 and 1:00pm for IOM

Trophy presentation at AGM (perpetual shield) for each class
All Tuesday's are mixed club racing for DF95 and IOM
Sundays other than the 1st and 3rd are club racing/practice days. 9:30 for DF95 and 1:00 for IOM.
Competition days that clash with State and National level events may be rescheduled and will be shown on the Club racing calendar spreadsheet.
